Surveys

Colmar Brunton conducts tailored surveys including telephone surveys, face-to-face surveys, online surveys, and postal surveys.

Each year we conduct, analyse and report on approximately 400,000 online, 140,000 CATI interviews, and 6,000-12,000 face-to-face interviews (varies depending on what face-to-face surveys are in-field).

We have over 100 telephone interviewers and over 100 face-to-face Colmar Brunton interviewers. Tracking surveys continuous population surveys – our survey fieldwork is conducted on every day of the year apart from Christmas and New Year holidays. This allows us to conduct continuous tracking surveys.

Apart from the customised surveys that we design and do every day for our clients we also offer an ‘Omni’ option. An Omni survey is the most cost-effective way of interviewing a large number of New Zealanders all over the country. An Omni survey carries the questions of several clients on the same survey instrument.  These clients share the same set-up, fieldwork and processing costs, and benefit from the economies of scale this produces.

Omnibus Telephone Surveys

Colmar Brunton's Omnibus runs every two weeks, interviewing 500 people aged 15 and over, throughout New Zealand. It is conducted by telephone, ensuring both a high degree of accuracy as well as a fast turnaround. All telephone numbers are generated randomly and the final total sample has a maximum margin for error of ±4.4%.

Questions can be asked of all 500 people, or targeted at specific groups within the total population who more closely match target markets of products and services.  Questions can also be run over more than one Omnibus if larger sample sizes are required.

Timing

It takes less than two weeks from confirming questions to delivering final results. Questions must be confirmed by the end of Monday.  Interviewing then takes place the following weekend, with results available the following Friday.

Prices vary depending on the number and type of questions asked, the consumers interviewed, the number of weeks questions are placed on Omnibus, and the type of analysis required.

OmniJet Online Surveys

OmniJet is Colmar Brunton's online Omnibus.  The OmniJet is conducted fortnightly by our dedicated Web Design team and talks to 1,000 individuals aged 18 years and over throughout New Zealand.

The OmniJet is an ideal option for clients who wish to conduct a smaller study of the general online population.  It is extremely cost and time effective due to the economies of scale created by having several different clients include questions in the OmniJet. 

Timing

It takes less than two weeks from confirming questions to delivering final results. Questions must be confirmed by the end of Friday.  Interviewing then takes place the following week, with results available the following Friday.
